As a part of this year's Bigger than Dance Concert Series, it is
our goal at City Dance Studio, in conjunction with the Houston Hip
Hop Academy, to expose as many people as possible to the culturally
vibrant and vital medium of dance, in particular, with an eye to
the greater world of the arts in general. With this in mind, we
have started the Bigger than Dance Educational Project, in which
we invite young people from a variety of disadvantantaged backgrounds
to attend each performance in the Bigger than Dance Concert Series.
Following each performance, the company will feature a question
and answer session with our artistic director, Ms. Sherese Campbell,
and City Dance Company's dancers and performance technicians, as
a way for our young beneficiaries in the program to delve deeper
into the artistic experience. It is our great hope that these young
people will take what we are able to show them, find their own passions,
and then expand upon them in their own lives.
We at City Dance Studio feel it is our duty to
seek out and help those who do not have the means to enjoy the arts
on their own, and it is with your help that we will be able to achieve
this lofty goal. Your generous donation will benefit children from
schools in inner city neighborhoods, children with disabilities,
and those who otherwise would not be able to attend our performances.
Programs from past series have included the Children's World Learning
Center, MC Williams Middle School, Kashmere High School, Robin Dale
School, Rainard School for the Gifted, and St. James Episcopal School...
This year, with your help, our foundation of participating organizations
can grow and expand even further.
Our current goal as a part of this program is to
send at least 100 young people to the next installment of our Bigger
than Dance Concert Series, on April 29th at Rice University's Hamman
Hall, to include their price of admission. Help us reach this goal
and bring the world of dance and the beauty of the arts to those
who need these creative outlets the most.
Your generous donation will help to expose the
world of dance to a young community otherwise unable to attend:
$100 donation sends five underprivileged young people to the Bigger
than Dance Concert Series
$200 donation gives ten deserving youths a chance to experience
the beauty and power of dance
$500 donation targets an entire class of young dance students from
a deserving program.
As a Sponsor, you will receive:
Sponsor's Name in the program's "Thank you" section
A letter recognizing your contribution (to be used for tax purposes)
The pleasure of knowing you have helped to expand the horizons of
our young people
