Stephanie Sermas is a native Houstonian, who began studying dance at an early age. She took a leave of absence from dance to focus on her college studies. She attended Georgetown University, where she received a degree in International Business and Marketing. She has since earned a Master’s Degree in Education and holds certifications to teach Dance and Theater in Texas public schools. Stephanie began dancing with Houston City Dance in 2009 and began performing with the Professional Company in 2010. She also serves as the director of 5.Seven Dance and teaches Dance and Technical Theater at Furr High School. Stephanie is especially grateful for the opportunities City Dance has afforded her in furthering her creative expression through choreography, even taking two of her works to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2014. Stephanie is in her sixth season with Houston City Dance.
